Tackle Your Summer Reading List with Free eBooks



Whether you are reading poolside for pleasure or professional development, consider an eBook from one of the following sites:
·         PubMedBookshelf - Bookshelf provides free access to books and documents in life science and healthcare.

·         ProjectGutenberg - Project Gutenberg offers more than 42,000 free eBooks. Find classics such as Les Misererables, Frankenstein, and The Call of the Wild here.

·         TeachingPatients with Low Literacy Skills – This book is now considered a classic text in health literacy.

As a Jameson employee, you also have access to several eBooks through STAT!Ref and the Nursing Resource Center. Please see the librarian if you need help accessing these databases.

Two Databases Trials Available through the Library Portal


Test Drive These Databases
The Jameson Health System Library has access to the  R2 Digital Library and Natural Standard until mid-June. Please visit the Library's portal page and scroll down to "trials" to test drive these databases.

The R2 Digital Library from Rittenhouse Book Distributors offers a unique selection of health science eBooks. Thousands of eBooks are available from nearly 50 leading publishers.

Natural Standard offers quick access to comprehensive, evidence-based, peer-reviewed information on foods, herbs, supplements and natural therapies. Sections include interactions, adverse effects, allergies, efficacy, pregnancy/lactation data and mechanism of action. Includes patient handouts in English and Spanish, as well as CE/CME programs.
